Speakers
Deborah K Hale CCS
Ms. Hale is president of Administrative Consultant Service, LLC (ACS), has 25 years of experience in healthcare management, including administration, health information management, clinical documentation improvement, resource outcome management, and utilization review. She is a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Hale is a featured speaker for numerous case management conferences.
Kimberly A Hoy JD, CPC
Ms. Hoy serves as the lead instructor for HCPro's Medicare Boot Camp®-Hospital Version. She has served as a compliance officer and in-house legal counsel for hospitals. She has also developed and implemented corporate wide compliance programs for two hospitals. As a hospital compliance officer, she regularly provided research and guidance on coding, billing, and reimbursement issues for a wide range of hospital services. She has particular expertise in charge description master operation, development,and maintenance. She has experience conducting billing compliance audits and internal investigations. She has served as a speaker at compliance-related conferences in the areas of compliance program effectiveness and physician education.
Stacey Levitt RN, MSN, CPC
Director of Patient Care Management
Ms. Levitt is director of patient care management at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. She has a solid clinical nursing background in both critical care and public health. Her ongoing administrative experience includes over twenty years in healthcare management settings in New York and Pennsylvania. Her areas of expertise includeutilization and denial management, reimbursement analysis, performance improvement, professional staff development, and project management. She is known for her in-depth knowledge of Medicare regulations and her passion for effecting increased efficiency, productivity, mastery of insurance coding rules, and realization of appropriate reimbursement. She is an expert in data management and analysis relating to hospital and physician reimbursement.
Shannon McCall RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-I
Director of HIM/Coding for HCPro, Inc.
Ms. McCall is director of HIM/coding for HCPro, Inc., serving as the lead instructor for the Certified Coder Boot Camp®-Original Version (covers physician and outpatient hospital coding) and the Certified Coder Boot Camp® - Inpatient Version (covers inpatient hospital facility coding). She also is an instructor for the Interventional Radiology Boot Camp and a member of the ACDIS advisory board.
Kathy D. Pagana, PhD, RN
Kathleen D. Pagana, PhD, RN has been a leader in healthcare for more than 30 years, with experiences including clinical practice, administration, college teaching, business management, writing, and professional speaking. Among the 22 books Dr. Pagana has written, she has co-authored the number one best-selling book on healthcare diagnostic and laboratory testing, Mosby's Diagnostic and Laboratory Test Reference, 9th ed., which has sold more than 1 million copies. Her newest book, The Nurse's Etiquette Advantage: How Professional Etiquette Can Advance Your Nursing Career, helps healthcare professionals advance their careers by interacting confidently in clinical, business, and social settings.
Michael Taylor MD
Dr. Taylor is senior medical director of Government and Regulatory Affairs at Executive Health Resources (EHR). He has worked closely with top hospital executives, physicians, and legal experts to institute a process of sophisticated, evidence-based medical necessity review of inpatient claims denied by the RACs. Dr. Taylor co-founded and served as president and managing partner of a comprehensive family medicine center to a rural community in northern Alabama.
James Vance MD, MBA
Dr. Vance is associate medical director at BCE Technology and an independent healthcare consultant with 25 years of clinical practice and 15 years of clinical performance improvement experience. His current focus is on engaging physicians in improving medical record documentation compliance, a critical component in the evolving healthcare reform environment.
Michael Yanuck MD
Dr. Yanuck is president of Michael Yanuck, MD, PA Medical Consulting. He provides consulting services to the medical industry, including hospitals, hospitalist groups, managed care organizations, and medical practice groups. Yanuck has also lectured on many subjects including compliance with Medicare rules covering observation, pay for performance and hospital acquired conditions (present on admission indicators). Additionally, he has served as medical director for a variety of managed care plans, including Medicare. Medicaid, and commercial plans. Yanuck is presently Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Yanuck obtained his medical degree from The Albany Medical College of Union University and did his residency at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Yanuck has active licenses in numerous states.
Joe Zebrowitz MD
Dr. Zebrowitz is executive vice president and senior medical director of EHR in Newtown Square, PA. In this role, he developed EHR's suite of clinical revenue cycle management services-endorsed by the American Hospital Association as "Best in Class." He also works as a physician advisor and medical director at EHR client hospitals, leading clinical denial management and length of stay programs, quality initiatives, documentation and compliance programs, and independent peer review processes.
