UnitedHealthcare has backed off its initial decision to suspend payment for mammography CAD-at least for the time being. It announced in October that it will continue paying for CAD until further notice and was expected to issue a final clarification about its reimbursement decision in mid-November The temporary hold may have come in response to active discussions with the ACR Managed Care Committee, which encouraged another insurer, The ODS Companies in Oregon, to reverse a similar policy this summer.
