Audits show digital coding
woesIf you are using the new digitization code as an add-on
in mammography, make sure to retrain your doctors on the documentation
requirements. A number of coding and reimbursement consulting firms have found
mammography sites without any mention of the digitization add-on in their
mammography reports. “We’re seeing this in a lot of
audits,” says Claudia Murray, a national coding consultant.
