Any individual who has met the MQSA requirements is qualified to practice mammography. But meeting the initial requirements is not enough to ensure long-term viability of skills. For this reason, the National Mammography Quality Assurance Advisory Committee (NMQAAC) included a continuing education (CE) requirement when formulating the MQSA. The regulations require providers to achieve 15 CE contact hours every three years, mimicking the American College of Radiology's Mammography Accreditation Program (MAP).
