A glimpse at the types of claims that the California RAC has requested in the past two years is a good indication of what might be in store if Medicare rolls out the program nationwide. Some of the records that the California RAC has requested include a specific set of DRGs (see Requested DRG claims below), medical necessity of acute-care rehab services, and even some outpatient claims.
