SPEAKERS:

Patty Atkins, MS, RN, Vice President of Quality, Sharp HealthCare, heads up Sharp's patient safety, Lean Six Sigma, and four hospital quality departments. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Change Agent, and Master Team Trainer, Ms. Atkins previously served as the director of Lean Six Sigma performance improvement and category lead for the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award application in 2007. A former critical care clinical nurse specialist, Atkins holds a bachelor’s degree from Tulsa University and a Master of Science from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center.

Marcia Hall, CEO, Sharp Coronado Hospital, San Diego, Calif., was named CEO of Sharp Coronado in 1995 after having served as vice president of quality and clinical services for Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Cabrillo Skilled Nursing Center, and Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women. Earlier in her career, Hall held positions as system director of surgical care services; associate administrator of Sharp Cabrillo; and director of pharmacy services at Sharp Cabrillo and UCSD Medical Center. She is a graduate of Oregon State University, where she received degrees in pharmacy and chemistry.

Susan B. Frampton, PhD, President, Planetree, Derby, Conn., works with a growing network of hospitals and health centers around the world that have implemented Planetree’s unique patient-centered model of care. Prior to her work with Planetree, she spent more than 20 years at several hospitals in the New England area. Her work has focused on com¬munity education, wellness and prevention, planning, and devel-opment of integrative medicine service lines

Susan Stone, PhD, RN, Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer, Sharp Memorial Hospital
San Diego, Calif., provides leadership, strategic planning, and nursing executive oversight for Sharp Memorial’s 643-bed facility. An adjunct faculty member at San Diego State University, she is known for innovative patient-centered care program development and patient-centered care research, and as a national Patient Centered Care Fellow, she contributed to the development of the Designated Patient Centered Care Hospital Program.

Lynn Skoczelas, Chief Experience Officer, Sharp HealthCare, is the chief experience officer for Sharp HealthCare, a fully integrated health care system in San Diego and home to The Sharp Experience. As chief experience officer, Lynn is responsible for system-wide leadership strategy, design, engagement and implementation of Sharp’s organizational improvement initiative that aims to transform the health care experience – The Sharp Experience. She also provides leadership for The Sharp University, a “corporate university” created to provide leadership development for leaders and physicians and team member engagement. With over 25 years as a Registered Nurse and a member of the Sharp HealthCare team since 1997, Lynn has served in several positions within the organization both in clinical focused on service line growth and non-clinical focused on the development of organizational culture. Her roles include Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Director of The Sharp Experience & Sharp University at the system level, and Director of Professional Development and Sharp Experience Champion at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital. Lynn holds a Bachelors of Science, Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
