Meet the JCAHO standards and train your medical staff with the new handbook, Credentialing Orientation Handbook: What Practitioners Need To Know About Credentialing
By Hugh Greeley and Todd Sagin, MD, JD
Training your medical staff members on credentialing processes and related JCAHO standards is an ongoing process that everyone on the medical staff needs to be familiar with. That's why we created the Credentialing Orientation Handbook: What Practitioners Need To Know About Credentialing. With this new handbook, you can streamline your credentialing process by making sure that physicians understand the importance of credentialing and how it works so that you can keep your credentialing on track. And that means staying out of trouble with the JCAHO and any plaintiff attorneys that might be looking for incomplete credentialing processes during a malpractice suit.
At just under 30 pages, this informative handbook highlights the reasons for credentialing practitioners, the steps followed to credential applicants for appointment and reappointment, and provides examples of credentialing policies and procedures. In addition, the authors answer many of the questions practitioners commonly have about the credentialing process, including why the hospital must conduct primary-source verification, what physicians can do if denied appointment, and when the hospital must file a report with the National Practitioner Data Bank.
The
Credentialing Orientation Handbook will also acquaint medical staff members and applicants to the medical staff with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations' (JCAHO) medical staff and leadership standards and help organizations meet JCAHO standards MS.2.1.14 and LD.2.8, which require the orientation and training of all hospital personnel.
Please note: Because these handbooks are meant to be given out to all staff involved in the credentialing process, they are sold in units of 25 for just $99 (plus a $5 shipping charge per 25 handbooks). They are not for individual sale.
