About the Authors
James K. Lathrop, former chief life safety engineer for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the editor of four editions of the Life Safety Code Handbook,is currently an instructor of NFPA seminars and vice president at Koffel Associates, Inc., a fire protection engineering and Code-consulting firm.
Jennifer L. Holloman conducts life safety inspections, fire protection systems inspections, acceptance testing for systems, shop drawing, and plan reviews for Koffel Associates. She provides Code-consulting services to a wide range of occupancies. She has gained considerable knowledge in the institutional code criteria as a result of her extensive work in the health care field. On an annual basis, she conducts Joint Commission Statement of Conditions consultations to health care facilities nationwide.
