About the author
Jane H. Flowers, RN, MSN, CNOR is the clinical nurse manager for PeriOperative Education at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. Last year she was presented the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) 2004 Outstanding Achievement in PeriOperative Clinical Nursing award at the organization's 51st annual Congress in San Diego. Ms. Flowers, who holds office on AORN's National Nominating Committee, received her BSN from then Salisbury State University and her MSN from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is a past-president of the local AORN chapter.
