Claude (Bud) Pate, REHS, is Practice Director of Clinical Operations Improvement for The Greeley Company, a division of HCPro, Inc. Prior to joining The Greeley Company, Bud spent fifteen years at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. He was responsible for a wide-range of region-wide quality and compliance initiatives during his tenure at Kaiser in Southern California. Mr Pate led an improvement effort that took 100,000 visits out of Kaiser’s ED volumes. Mr. Pate has an active patient flow practice and has authored a number of articles and books. He has three books on emergency department flow and quality currently in print, as well as books on Six Sigma and approaches to JCAHO compliance. Mr. Pate is a regular presented at national conferences.
Derenda S. Pete, RN, MBA, is a nationally recognized health care facilitator and emergency services clinician with experience as a project director, senior consultant, health care administrator, and department manager. As a Managing Partner of InSight Advantage, LP, she helps institutions across the country address difficult operational issues. By combining her knowledge of best demonstrated practices with profound data analysis skills and practical clinical/operational expertise, Ms. Pete has guided her clients toward improved customer service and profitability. Ms. Pete is the co-creator of industry-leading departmental redesign software and review processes. In addition, she is the co-author of Quality Measurement: A Practical Guide for the Emergency Department and Solving Emergency Department Overcrowding: Successful Approaches to a Chronic Problem.
Debbie Tedder, RN, MBA, is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer for Memorial Regional Hospital, a 690-bed tertiary-care facility in Florida and the flagship hospital of Memorial Healthcare System, a public, non-profit hospital system in south Broward County. In her dual role, she tackles a number of responsibilities, including the supervision of nursing services, integration of clinical services and quality/regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Memorial, Mrs. Tedder worked as Chief Nursing Officer for Tenet Healthcare Corporation at Coral Gables Hospital.
