AUDIOCONFERENCE ON TAPE OR CD
Sponsored by Briefings on APCs
presented on November 1, 2006
Pricing items in the chargemaster is largely a hospital-specific decision. Providers are responsible, however, for developing a sound policy and following it. And they must do so without violating the little-known Medicare charging rule.
In addition, hospital staff must know which items they can and cannot separately bill, develop and maintain proper CDM charges, and best operationalize the CDM's use.
Our speakers discuss the rapid increase in the public scrutiny of hospital pricing. They offer pricing development strategies to help your facility formulate a long-term plan for adjusting hospital chargemaster pricing to meet both compliance and patient relations needs, as well as advice for billing supplies from the CDM.
This program also touches upon:
- OIG and CMS compliance mandates
- Supply categorization, implantable DME, pharmaceutical items
- CMS HCPCS C-codes
Pricing for pass-through payments- Developing consistent charge algorithms
- Long-term pricing strategies
Note: This is an intermediate-level program. Participants should have a general knowledge of the hospital chargemaster plus general pricing and cost concepts within healthcare.
