ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Bonnie G. Foster, RN, BSN, MEd, is an independent long-term care consultant, working in the field of geriatrics since 1969. Her varied work history includes positions as a CNA, charge nurse, staff development, director of nursing, and state nurse surveyor for federal long-term care regulations. She has won numerous awards ranging from outstanding teacher to a monetary reward for retention and recruitment. She has authored several manuals including: MDS/Resident Care Plans; Developing and Implementing Restorative Programs, Legal and Ethical Issues, Mangement for Nurses, and The QI/QM Troubleshooter. She currently teaches several long term care programs throughout the country, consults within facilities, and is an expert witness for nursing home cases.
Molly C. Morand BSN, RN, BC, is the president of The Morand Group, LLC, certified in gerotological nursing and a former CMS state surveyor. Morand has experience in all areas of healthcare and currently provides consultation to long term care facilities, assisted living centers, adult day care centers, hospitals, provider organizations, Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs), consumer organizations, and suppliers throughout the United States on regulatory, compliance, and quality of life issues. Ms Morand has assisted many facilities with developing policies and procedures as well as implementing and improving care practices that have resulted in improved outcomes, and has also provided expert witness testimony in many areas including pressure ulcers, skin conditions, and falls. A dynamic presenter, Morand has been the guest of many local, state, and national associations where she is asked to share her expertise.
