ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Tessa L. Chenaille, CHC, CHP, is the President and CEO of Chenaille Compliance Consulting, LLC. Ms. Chenaille brings with her more than 20 years experience in the healthcare field, having held positions as corporate compliance officer, privacy officer, director of operations and chief executive officer for various health care organizations. Ms. Chenaille co-wrote 30 Essential Policies and Procedures for Long-Term Care for HCPro. She has lectured on the local, regional and national levels on various topics in the compliance and HIPAA arena, as well as presented on various management topics. Ms. Chenaille also serves as an Advisory Board Member for Briefings on Outpatient Rehab Reimbursement and Regulations.
Ms. Chenaille is certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC), certified in Health Care Privacy (CHP) and is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). She is also a member of MassAging, The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHA), Massachusetts Extended Care Federation (MECF), The Society for Business Ethics (SBE), the New England Medical Equipment Dealers Association (NEMED), and is a member of the board of directors for the Medford Chamber of Commerce.
Stephen T. Paterson is the vice president of compliance and education at the United Church Homes and Services. Mr. Paterson joined the management team at United Church Homes and Services (UCHS) in 1993, serving initially as the vice president of administration for the Abernethy Center. He assumed his current position as vice president of compliance and education in 2002. Mr. Paterson served as an executive director with Southern California Presbyterian Homes for six years prior to coming to UCHS. His management career in healthcare started in the hospital setting in 1980, later transitioning to long-term care. Much of his time is spent in policy development and implementation. He has been licensed as a nursing home administrator since 1985 and a certified preceptor since 1988; holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Safety Studies; and holds a Master of Science degree in Health Care Management from California State University, Los Angeles. Mr. Paterson develops curriculum, conducts workshops, and provides training in the areas of corporate compliance, governance, quality assurance, and health administration. His speaking assignments include Chamber groups, church groups, healthcare organizations, and professional associations at the local, state and national level.
