AUDIOCONFERENCE ON TAPE OR CD
Sponsored by Case Management Monthly
presented on January 24, 2007
Patient flow can be influenced by efficient interaction of both the utilization review (UR) and discharge planning (DP) processes. Therefore, discharge planners and utilization reviewers need to know what each other does and the rules that must be followed.
Utilization review committees are empowered by The Conditions of Participation (COP) to help in the discharge planning process. If UR can identify a patient needing discharge planning at admission, the UR committee can also facilitate a patient's actual discharge.
During this 90-minute audioconference you will learn ways in which case management staff who are responsible for utilization review and discharge processes can proactively be a part of a team effort to coordinate and facilitate the patient flow and safety processes in the hospital.
