AUDIOCONFERENCE ON TAPE OR CD
presented on March 27, 2007
Preparation and Prevention. Response and Recovery.
Emergency preparedness is on the lips of all safety officers these days, and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) is taking an ever-increasing role in these efforts.
NIMS sets a variety of national requirements for community response plans, including a 17-point implementation list that hospitals must follow to remain eligible for certain emergency planning funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Under NIMS, hospitals benefit from a unified approach to incident management and standard command and management structures.
Listen to this 90-minute audioconference and hear the latest information you need to know about NIMS compliance, including training expectations. During Strategies to Incorporate New NIMS Requirements into Hospital Emergency Plans, expert Albert H Fluman, acting director of the federal government’s NIMS Integration Center, describes how NIMS ties into federal hospital emergency planning funds, outlining important NIMS deadlines.
At the end of the program, you'll be able to recognize 17 hospital implementation elements that are a focal point of NIMS and understand how NIMS relates to the Hospital Incident Command System (HISC).
