MEET THE SPEAKERS
Bonnie G. Foster, RN, BSN, MEd, is an independent long-term care consultant who has worked in the field of geriatrics since 1969. Her varied work history includes positions as a CNA, charge nurse, staff developer, director of nursing, and state nurse surveyor for federal long-term care regulations. Foster has won numerous awards, ranging from outstanding teacher to a monetary reward for retention and recruitment. She has authored several manuals, including MDS/Resident Care Plans; Developing and Implementing Restorative Programs; Legal and Ethical Issues; Management for Nurses; and the HCPro title The QI/QM Troubleshooter. Two of Foster's key skill areas are organizing nursing departments and teaching leadership skills. She currently teaches several long-term care programs throughout the country, consults within facilities, and is an expert witness for nursing home cases.
Debbie Ohl, RN, LNHA, NHA, is the owner of Ohl & Associates, a long-term care education and resources company in Cincinnati, and a certified facilitator. Her manuals, workshops, and Web site provide cutting-edge information and material to help long-term care professionals comply with regulations and meet the needs of their residents. She is the author of more than a dozen books on subjects related to nursing home administration and long-term care, including The Big Book of Care Plans and Activities for Resident-Centered Care, both published by HCPro.
