MEET THE SPEAKERS
Carol S. Cairns, CPMSM, CPCS, is a senior consultant at The Greeley Company. She brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare management to her work with hospitals and medical staffs nationwide. Ms. Cairns applies her management and clinical experiences to help healthcare providers develop solutions to their unique needs and objectives. As a clinical faculty member for The Joint Commission, she wrote The Medical Staff Handbook: A Guide to Joint Commission Standards and The LIP's Guide to Credentials Review and Privileging. She has a particular expertise in credentialing and privileging.
Mary J. Hoppa, MD, MBA, serves as a physician consultant at The Greeley Company. She brings over 10 years of healthcare leadership and management experience to her work with physicians, hospitals, and healthcare organizations across the country. Dr. Hoppa's roles in hospital administration and medical staff leadership in academic and community hospital settings make her uniquely qualified to assist physicians and medical centers develop effective solutions to their most significant challenges. She has an expertise in quality, peer review, regulatory, risk management, credentialing, infection control, medical records, operational re-engineering, and care coordination.
David Ashbach, MD, is a partner in Nephrology Specialists P.C. in Gary and Merrillville. He was one of the first double boarded specialists in Indiana, with board certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Ashbach developed the Stuart A. Kleit Symposium International, which keeps national and local medical professionals informed with the most up-to-date information in the Nephrology field. He also contributed to the development of the Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) for the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana. Dr. Ashbach is a past board member of the Indiana Health and Hospital Association, is currently on the board of the Gift of Hope, the local organ procurement organization.
