AUDIOCONFERENCE ON TAPE, CD OR AUDIO ARCHIVE
sponsored by Quality Improvement Monitor
presented on April 30, 2007
Struggling with physician-to-physician handoffs? You're not alone.
Many hospitals continue to struggle with handoffs, particularly from one physician to another. Shorter resident hours are exacerbating the problem, and although The Joint Commission requires all hospitals to have a standardized process in place, there has been little guidance on how to implement this National Patient Safety Goal.
Handoff strategies that work AND meet Joint requirements!
Listen to two experts for a 90-minute audioconference. This program offers strategies and how-to advice for developing consistent handoff processes that meet Joint Commission requirements, especially now that the agency has released new FAQs on this challenging patient safety goal.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this audioconference, participants will be able to:
- Determine which methods are most appropriate for exploring physician handoffs in their clinical settings
- Develop a standard process to optimize physician handoffs using a mapping methodology
- Create a checklist of critical patient and process information
