AUDIOCONFERENCE ON TAPE, CD OR AUDIO ARCHIVE
Sponsored by PPS Alert for Long-Term Care
presented on June 21, 2007
Worried about MDS scrutiny under revised federal guidelines? Learn to think like an MDS auditor.
Skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) are grappling with heightened audit scrutiny from fiscal intermediaries, DAVE 2 auditors, Recovery Audit Contractors and other regulatory initiatives. Furthermore, auditors’ use of specialized MDS review software under Transmittal 196 will mean even deeper MDS examination.
In order to ensure reimbursement compliance, you must understand how the MDS integrates into the entire Medicare (and Medicaid) revenue cycle. This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the entire process, providing understanding of how to:
- Recall audit UB-92s to identify MDS issues
- Identify lost reimbursement and red flags
- State Transmittal 196 – provider implications concerning new MDS audit procedures
- Explain the documentation needed to support reimbursement drivers on the MDS
<
Listen to this 90-minute audioconference (including a 30-minute question and answer session) and learn how to improve your MDS accuracy in light of the latest federal initiatives. Experts Sheryl B. Rosenfield, RN, BC, and Marc N. Zimmet provide tips you can use now to prepare for your next DAVE 2 audit. They’ll also outline what to expect, including how to persuasively argue against negative findings of DAVE 2 surveyors.
