MEET THE SPEAKERS
Kurt Patton, is a senior consultant for The Greeley Company, a division of HCPro, Inc., and served as executive director of accreditation services for The Joint Commission for more than seven years until his retirement in December 2005. In this role, he worked with all types of accredited organizations seeking to be re-surveyed, and new organizations seeking to become accredited. Patton was responsible for business development in the Hospital Accreditation Program, and the development of a Critical Access Hospital program. He also was a frequent presenter at Joint Commission educational programs including Executive Briefings.
Thirsa Martinez, PharmD, MPA, COL, MS, started her career as the assistant chief of pharmacy at Fort Campbell, KY. She was deployed with the 101st Airborne Division as the Division Pharmacist and worked closely with the Division Surgeon during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Following various assignments, Martinez served as a clinical pharmacist for nephrology and primary care medicine. She has been the director of various pharmacy-run clinics including a drug therapy monitoring clinic (diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and lipids management) and an anticoagulation clinic.
