This course provides a basic introduction to common infectious and parasitic diseases: The human immunodeficiency virus septicemia (including sepsis and SIRS). This module will provide a basic overview of the disease process, associated signs and symptoms, diagnostic and treatment options, and specific coding guidelines regarding the reporting of codes from this chapter of the ICD-9-CM coding manual.
