Thomas J. Huser, MS, CHSP, is a safety coordinator for a healthcare system in Indianapolis, IN. He's a health and safety professional with more than 21 years of health care and public safety experience. Huser’s specific responsibilities include hazardous materials and emergency preparedness. Huser has published over 13 articles in the Journal of Healthcare Security on topics including: disaster drill planning, emergency decontamination, the Incident Command System, and the Hazard Communication Program. He has authored "The Environment of Care Handbook" published in 2003 by HCPro, now in its third edition.
Thomas Salamone is the director of safety & security and Environment of Care Coordinator at Norwalk Hospital, in Norwalk, CT. Salamone has been working with the healthcare industry for more than 25 years. He is a well respected Accreditation Preparation and Environment of Care Coordinator, Trainer, Educator and Consultant. At Norwalk Hospital is responsibilities include overseeing safety, security, fire prevention, bio-medical engineering, emergency management and utilities management from the regulatory compliance standpoint. Salamone is also the chairperson of the Environment of Care Committee and serves on the Patient Safety and Quality Executive Committee.
