AUDIOCONFERENCE ON TAPE, CD OR AUDIO ARCHIVE

presented on September 25, 2007
Your source for advice and techniques on NIMS implementation and emergency management
The National Incident Management System (NIMS) sets a variety of federal requirements for community response plans, including a 17-point implementation list that hospitals must follow to remain eligible for certain emergency planning funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The implementation of NIMS (National Incident Management System) has caused much confusion in hospitals around the country. If you are like most, you’re struggling to understand the crossover between NIMS and the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and how the revised requirements affect your facility.
<
Some NIMS activities must be adopted and/or implemented by hospitals receiving federal preparedness and response grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements by September 30, 2007. Meanwhile, hospitals also remain under pressure to be continually prepared for emergencies in their communities.
We can help you understand these requirements and save you frustration with our 90-minute audioconference devoted to emergency planning. Our speakers have successfully rolled out emergency planning initiatives in their facilities will share their efforts and experiences from the field.
You receive practical tips on how to get executive buy-in, how to move to NIMS and HICS if you’ve used other systems in the past, and how to create community preparedness.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the compatibility of NIMS and HICS
- Implement a culture of safety in your facility
