Sponsored by Managing Documentation Risk:
A Guide for Nurse Managers, Second Edition
presented on October 11, 2007
As a nurse, documentation may be the least favorite part of your job—but it's also one of the most important aspects. Incomplete or improper documentation poses huge legal and compliance threats, including citations from state, federal, and Joint Commission surveyors. More importantly, accurate documentation is an essential part of providing safe and reliable patient care. But how do you ensure thorough and correct documentation?
Learn documentation strategies to raise your standard of care
Whether your facility uses paper documentation, electronic documentation, or a combination of the two, discover the basic tools and strategies you can use to avoid risks and ensure proper reimbursement.
Listen to HCPro's Nursing Documentation: Improve practices to stay compliant and raise the standard of care. During this 90-minute audioconference, expert speakers, Patricia A. Duclos-Miller, MS, RN, CNA, BC, and Dianne Ditmer, PhD, RN, CFN, CRM, DABFN, FACFE, will outline the legal, regulatory, and quality risks of documentation, and the fundamental ways you can eliminate them regardless of your current documentation system. They also provide tips to help you avoid common documentation pitfalls, sample forms and techniques for monitoring documentation, and strategies to keep staff motivated and dedicated to documentation guidelines.
