Understand and use your QM/QIs to your advantage
The Quality Indicators/Quality Measures (QM/QI) are part of a complicated measurement system that CMS uses to gauge the quality of your nursing home. They are also the basis of your survey process. Nursing home managers and staf need to be on notice to understand these reports and the effect they have on they survey process, bonus payments, and on the public.
There is a lot riding on your QM/QI data
Not only do these the QM/QIs affect your survey results, but they also are the basis for the upcoming value-based purchasing system by CMS (pay-for-performance).The pay-for-performance incentive means more money for you—and now is the time to understand QM/QI measures so you are ready to earn the money you are entitled to.
