AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ARCHIVE
Sponsored by The Medication Management Compliance Toolkit
presented on October 16, 2007
The constant changes to MM.4.10 pose a big challenge for hospitals, especially in the ER and radiology areas where it’s difficult to have a pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner review every medication order prior to administration.
The Joint Commission rescinded an interim action to MM.4.10 that affects the review of all medication orders for appropriateness. The change, which eliminates retrospective pharmacy reviews of medications prescribed in the ER, was one of several recent changes made to MM.4.10.
