MEET THE SPEAKERS
Stuart H. Platt, PT, MSPT, has been a licensed PT for 18 years and has practiced in a variety of clinical settings. His company, Appropriate Utilization Group, provides utilization management consulting services in the physical medicine and rehabilitation arena. Prior to starting his own consulting company, Mr. Platt directed the physical therapy review division of a national physical medicine and rehabilitation consulting firm and was the manager of a large outpatient physical therapy clinic. He has served as an expert reviewer for the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Task Force on Practice Parameters, and he just completed a five-year term on APTA’s Committee on Risk Management and Member Benefits and has reviewed over 15,000 physical therapy/medicine cases for national insurance companies, attorneys, provider practices, and regulatory entities.
Jennifer L. Baker, MSW, CAE, has been on the front lines of association management since 1992 when she joined the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). During her tenure at APTA, she has developed expertise in the areas of physical therapy risk management and professional liability insurance. Ms. Baker is the staff liaison to the Association’s Committee on Risk Management and Member Benefits. In this role, she has worked closely with committee members to develop and deliver risk management education content in a variety of formats.
