AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ARCHIVE
Sponsored by Briefings on APCs
presented on February 19, 2008
A new program on an HIM hot topic. . .
HCPro’s Hospital Outpatient Wound Care Coding audioconference!
Outpatient wound care is a hot topic around the country for coding, billing, and compliance professionals—and with good reason. It remains a target of official Office of Inspector General (OIG) audits, and coding and billing staff continue to struggle with debridement CPT coding and billing, reporting services for non-physician practitioners and certified wound care nurses, meeting medical necessity requirements, and more.
<
During this 90-minute audioconference, our expert speakers help you reduce denials with step-by-step strategies and tips, and provide advice to improve documentation, coding accuracy and compliance.
Covering the most critical and talked about issues in wound care coding—from the OIG Work Plan and debridement to ICD-9-CM medical necessity requirements—this program helps you and your staff:
- Explain latest CMS updates affecting wound care in 2008, including extensive packaging changes
- Illustrate how to organize operations and review the changes of coding coverage and payment on an annual basis
- Explain issues that the OIG is looking at in wound care coding/compliance and how they are translating into denied claims and new, stricter LCDs
- Utilize the correct debridement codes, including surgical codes and selective and non-selective debridement codes
- Demonstrate compliance when billing for physicians vs. non-physician practitioners, physician assistants, certified wound care nurses, and RNs
