Are your prices compliant with CMS standards?
The ongoing legal battle between the government and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores highlights the continuing ambiguities under the Medicaid rebate program, and the significant policy disputes relating to payment for pharmaceuticals on the basis of pricing information reported by manufacturers.
For pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmaceutical pricing continues to raise significant compliance risks, with intense federal scrutiny over Average Sales Price (ASP), Average Manufacturer Price (AMP) and Best Price (BP) expected to continue following finalization of the rule. With penalties of heavy fines or further regulation, drug manufacturers must ensure their price reporting processes are appropriate under the regulations. In addition, both pharmacies and manufacturers must understand the reimbursement implications of the regulations on their contracting strategies.
ePharmaceuticals helps you identify how best to calculate prices
Listen to ePharmaceuticals' 60-minute Webcast, “AMP, ASP, and Best Price: Calculate correctly and understand contracting implications.” Healthcare legal experts Joseph Metro (Reed Smith) and David Ralston (Schering-Plough) guide participants through a specific AMP price calculation, highlight current “hot topics” and illustrate potential red flags that may draw government attention. Discussion also focuses on how to proactively monitor and implement CMS guidelines, and create internal policies that will prevent audits.
