MEET THE SPEAKERS

Joseph Metro, partner, Reed Smith, Washington, D.C. Metro focuses on reimbursement, regulatory and fraud and abuse issues facing healthcare manufacturers and providers. He frequently provides analysis and counseling on a broad variety of regulatory issues including: the Medicaid drug rebate statute, the Veterans Health Care Act’s drug pricing standards, the federal anti-kickback statute, and other state and federal laws relating to the promotion of prescription drugs and medical devices. 

David Ralston, Senior Legal Director, Schering-Plough. Ralston serves as the main in-house counsel regarding pharmaceutical pricing issues and government reporting obligations resulting from pricing decisions for all sections of Global Pharmaceutical Business and Finance. He serves as main counsel to US Managed Markets regarding implementation of Medicare Modernization Act provisions. His practice includes providing federal and state fraud and abuse counsel to senior management, including advice regarding the structure of relationships with managed care entities, physicians and other pharmaceutical customers.
