Shared Governance
Translating Five Proven Principles into Practical Application
Product Description:
AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by Shared Governance: A Practical Approach to Reshaping Professional Nursing Practice
presented on June 3, 2008
There are five, non-negotiable principles for successful shared governance. Is your facility implementing them?
Shared governance is vital to retention because it empowers nurses to share in decisions about their practice—that’s why it’s also a requirement for attaining ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® status. Although overwhelming evidence shows the benefits of building and maintaining a shared governance process, many facilities still struggle with resources, support, and implementation.
HCPro has teamed up with industry experts Tim Porter-O’Grady, DM, EdD, APRN, FAAN and Kim S. Hitchings, MSN, RN, CNAA, BC, to help you build and evolve your shared governance model. They reveal the five, proven principles you must have to make this practice-driven model work for you. You'll learn the major make-or-break issues that can enhance or limit your results, walk away with solutions to overcome common decision-making challenges, and identify how to apply the five principles to meet the unique needs of your culture.
New special guestCourtney B. Vose, MSN, RN, CRNP, CEN, from Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network (LVHHN) in PA, joins the program to offer a unit director’s perspective during the 45-minute Q&A session.
