Preventing Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections
Evidence-Based Nursing Practices for CMS Compliance
Product Description:
AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by StrategiesForNurseManagers.com
presented on June 26, 2008UTIs are the number one cause of hospital-acquired infections.
Does your hospital implement evidence-based procedures to prevent them?
As of October 2008, CMS will not reimburse healthcare organizations for treatment of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) if the UTI was preventable. At a time when 56% of hospitals do not have a system for monitoring which patients have urinary catheters and 74% do not closely monitor catheter duration, hospitals need to act now to reduce their facility's infection rates or risk losing reimbursement.
During this 90-minute audioconference, Preventing Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections: Evidence-Based Nursing Practices for CMS Compliance, you'll learn how to reduce catheter-associated UTIs at your facility. Expert speakers Mikel Gray, PhD, CUNP, FAAN, and Joan M. Lorenz, RN, MSN, PMHCNS-BC, teach you:
