MEET THE SPEAKERS
Claude (Bud) Pate, REHS, serves as vice president for content and development at The Greeley Company. He is a nationally recognized expert in patient flow and in hospital and health system regulation and accreditation with more than 25 years experience in high profile problem solving.
Mr. Pate is a regular speaker at national conferences with popular presentations on a wide range of topics, including The Joint Commission and CMS rules and requirements, mitigating hospital overcrowding by improving patient flow, patient safety and root cause analysis, and a host of other hospital and medical staff issues. He has six publications currently in print, including two books about patient flow, two about quality systems, and two dealing with Joint Commission readiness.
Mindel Spiegel, MD, MPH is a consultant for issues in state licensing and federal certification of healthcare facilities. For over 16 years, Dr. Spiegel was medical consultant for the Los Angeles Region of Licensing & Certification. In that capacity she provided oversight responsibility for and supervision of surveyors in acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals, ambulatory surgery and long term care facilities. Dr. Spiegel participated in surveys of these facilities and served as faculty in training programs for state and federal surveyors. She has also done presentations for CAMSS, the Institute for Medical Quality, and many hospital medical staffs.
