Performing criminal background checks on practitioners has become standard practice in many organizations across the country. However, it is often unclear to MSPs:
- What is the most useful data to gather
- How to collect it
- What to do with the results
Gain practical strategies and clear steps for applying data gathered through background checks
Join HCPro on Friday, May 30 for the live audioconference Criminal Background Checks: What Are Your Data Telling You? Our expert speakers will help you examine what actions your MSO should take to protect patients without exposing your facility and medical staff practitioners to a lawsuit. You’ll learn:
- How to minimize liability for the hospital and medical staff
- How to set a consistent and reliable policy for background checks
- What to do when you uncover potential “red flag” information
- What the Fair Credit Report act means for practitioner background checks
- The risks involved in failing to address these issues
- What your peers are doing
Most healthcare organizations agree, criminal background checks protect all parties involved
Whether your organization is considering implementing background checks or they are already a part of the primary source verification process, this audio will help you determine how to apply the data gathered in the most practical ways. Our presenters include a field-experienced authority on performing background checks, an expert in legal issues for healthcare, and a veteran MSP who has implemented successful practices at her facility-so you will gain insight into the many aspects of this challenging topic. See below for more information on our presenters.
Our experts will also be available for a live Q&A session at the end of the program to answer participants’ questions.
At the end of this audioconference, participants will be able to:
- Develop an action plan for reviewing and processing physicians with prior criminal convictions
- Identify which individuals within the medical staff should have access to the criminal conviction information and which individuals will be responsible to review and make decisions/recommendations regarding those physicians
