MEET THE SPEAKERS

Diane L. Brown, regulatory specialist at HCPro, is a long-term care educator and consultant with over 25 year's operational experience in healthcare. Brown was the editor of the Briggs Corporation MDS v2.0 User's Manual and The Survey Guide and she coauthored and published the Quick Guide to Documentation for Post Acute Care among other publications.  Brown lectures on MDS, PPS, documentation, reimbursement, Medicare, among other healthcare issues. She also is a master instructor for the NASPAC CRNAC program and is the creator and instructor of HCPro’s Survey Prep Boot Camp.  She is a member of the MDS 3.0 Stakeholder’s Committee, which advocates industry interests.

Maureen A. Wern is president of Wern and Associates. Mrs. Wern founded Wern and Associates, a full service long term care consulting firm, after serving ten years as Executive Director of a 150 bed long term care facility. During Mrs. Wern’s tenure, the care center developed into a full eldercare campus involving both the addition of a 50 bed assisted living facility and a home health agency.  Mrs. Wern has over 25 years experience in the long term care industry. Mrs. Wern excels in the role of long term care education operations educator, focusing on the impact of the MDS process on financial reimbursement.
