Anesthesia Coding

Product Description:

AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND

Sponsored by JustCoding.com

presented on July 25, 2008

Reporting anesthesia services requires a high level of detail, making coding particularly tricky. Coders must be cognizant of the type of anesthesia administered, when and who administered the anesthesia, when carriers pay extra for anesthesia services, and when to append a modifier to the procedure code. Additional qualifying circumstances, such as when a patient is under one year old, make anesthesia coding increasingly difficult. Learn how to deal with the unusual and difficult anesthesia coding cases that present a challenge to proper coding.

During this 90-minute audioconference, our speakers provide a step-by-step approach to anesthesia coding using complex case studies that highlight how to select a procedure code, determine who provided the anesthesia, identify the type of anesthesia used, report any necessary modifiers, and capture applicable qualifying circumstances.
