AUDIOCONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by Briefings on Infection Control
presented on July 31, 2008
Prepare your IC department to handle Joint Commission emergency management requirements
As The Joint Commission takes a hard look at emergency management in its 2009 standards, infection control professionals (ICPs) are faced with more challenges and responsibilities for the spread of diseases during a disaster. It’s critical that ICPs understand their Hospital Incident Command (HICS) roles, which previously were mainly a safety-only related issue. You also must be prepared to respond to internal events with infectious agents, such as water infiltration and resulting mold growth or the outbreak of a disease, such as norovirus or scabies, as well as external events that include flood-related illness.
BONUS TOOLS INCLUDED IN YOUR MATERIALS PACKET!
In addition to the expertise and advice presented during this audioconference, you'll also receive these helpful “take-aways” provided within your materials pack:
- HICS Response Plans for outbreaks
- Mold Fact Sheet
- Water boil alert / water shut down procedures
- Epidemiological tool for tracking illness and injury
- IC data collection form
- Personal preparedness sheet
These materials are provided with PDF links.
