Learning objectives:

At the end of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the following learning objectives:

• Learn how to recognize and respond to early warning signs of anger or hostility
• Use body language and communication to defuse hostility
• Set firm, direct limits while remaining respectful and polite
• Give bad news in the safest and most professional manner
• Know how and where to report workplace violence

Faculty:

Dr. Sheila Dunn is a nationally recognized expert in federal laboratory and OSHA regulations. She received a Doctor of Arts degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Education in 1986 and a Master of Science in 1982 from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.

Intended audience:

All employees in all outpatient medical facilities, dental facilities, and hospitals.
