2009 Physician Quality Reporting Initiative
Product Description:
AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by JustCoding.com
presented on December 9, 2008
Would you like to get paid a little more for the quality care that you're already providing? You can under the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI)—a voluntary program that provides an incentive payment to physicians who satisfactorily report quality measure data to CMS.
But there's more to PQRI than receiving an added financial bonus. It's not the monetary award that makes PQRI so crucial to hospitals and physician groups—it's how smart reporting on measured aspects of patient care and documentation can improve transparency, value-based purchasing, and physician and facility profiles.
During this 90-minute audio conference, our expert speakers explain PQRI and the new measures for the 2009 program. You'll learn how to implement a PQRI program—or strengthen your existing program—how to select the appropriate measures for your practice, and secure both physician buy-in and strengthen coder-physician communication for your program's success.
This is an intermediate-level audio conference. Purchasers should have a basic understanding of PQRI and to what level their physicians are participating.
Take a look at the agenda:
- The significance of PQRI
- Why it's important for physicians to participate in PQRI
- What PQRI means today, and what it could mean for the future
- How PQRI fits into the bigger CMS strategy of value-based purchasing
- 2009 PQRI measures
- Overview of the new measures
- What's new for 2009
- Clinical challenges and perspective
- Coding guidelines and perspectives
- Implementation strategies
- Choosing measures that are appropriate for your practice
- Who to involve in the implementation
- Rolling out the program
- Mechanisms to improve participation
- Benefits and risks of using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for PQRI data collection
- Engaging physicians
- Physician perspective on PQRI
- How coders can engage physicians
- Strategies for querying physicians
A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
