Product Description:
AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by Briefings on APCs
presented on February 24, 2009
Learn how to tackle complex interventional radiology coding
Interventional radiology continues to be a particularly challenging specialty for HIM/coding departments. Difficult anatomy, complex physician operative reports, and confusing documentation, as well as the need to report as many as six or seven codes per procedure are just some of the obstacles.During this intermediate-level program, expert speakers Amy L Wood, CPC and Susan Garrison, CHCA, CPC, CHC, CPC-H, CCS-P, CPAR, PCS, FCS, walk you through coding guidelines, concentrating on procedures above the diaphragm. You’ll discover how to append codes with the appropriate modifiers and learn what you need to do to avoid denied claims and successfully appeal inappropriate denials. Through case studies and actual operative reports, the speakers demonstrate ways to code records for appropriate reimbursement for facility and physician claims.
