ICD-10: Develop a Blueprint for Implementation

Product Description:

AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND

Sponsored by Briefings on Coding Compliance Strategies

presented on January 27, 2009

ICD-10 is coming in 2013

The transition to ICD-10—the coding system that is used around the world— takes effect in October 2013. Don't think that the time frame gives you a "let's worry about it later" cushion. It's time to start planning now.

ICD-10 implementation will ripple across many departments in your healthcare organization. Some are obvious—from HIM, coding and revenue cycle, to billing and patient financial services. But ICD-10 will stretch into your information technology department, where you'll need software and hardware upgrades and solutions to manage the new codes. Medical staff leadership needs to be on board to help reinforce the physician and clinical documentation changes required to ensure accurate coding, billing, and reimbursement. You'll need the executive suite on board to encourage a collaborative effort between every department for success.

Listen to HCPro for the 90-minute audio conference ICD-10: Develop a Blueprint for Implementation. This program gives you the tools you need to initiate preparation for several departments for ICD-10. You'll learn the impact on various departments, the anticipated timeline to implementation, and how to prepare for the financial impact ICD-10 will have on your organization. You'll learn how to gather the resources and information you'll need, and how to form a team with representation from the necessary departments so you can move toward a smooth implementation. Our expert speaker also provides case scenarios of how ICD-10 coding differs from ICD-9 and provide examples for you to share with staff and your ICD-10 team.

This is an intermediate-level audio conference. Purchasers should be familiar with the ICD-10 final rule. At this time, the rule is pending from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). When it is published we will post a link on this page.

ICD-10 implementation is more than a simple coding update. The implications reach across the continuum of care. Listen to us for this very important program and learn how to get ready.
