MEET THE SPEAKERS
Nancy M. Albert, PhD, CCNS, CCRN, NE-BC, FAHA, FCCM, is the director of nursing research and innovation at the Nursing Institute, and clinical nurse specialist at the George M. and Linda H. Kaufman Center for Heart Failure at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. She is an investigator for cardiac, emergency care, and other nursing research projects to facilitate nursing research that promotes evidence-based nursing practice. Her programs of research are in predictors of, interventions, and performance measures that improve clinical outcomes of patients with heart failure. She is well published in cardiac and heart failure nursing and has presented at national and international meetings.
Marquetta Flaugher, ARNP-BC, DSN, is an advanced nurse practitioner who currently works at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in Bay Pines, FL. She is an ANCC-certified family nurse practitioner who works in Medicine services. She presently serves on an institutional review board and the research and development committee, and is a liaison between the two committees. She is the author of the book Nursing Research Program Builder: Strategies to Translate Findings into Practice, published by HCPro. She has given numerous presentations on evidence-based practice and the importance of research. She currently serves as a research consultant in nursing services and publishes articles focusing on nursing issues. She has conducted clinical nursing research with a focus on chronic pain control and has worked on multisite research projects in the care of the elderly population.
