Many hospitals have risk assessment plans in place for new construction and large renovations, but smaller jobs often fall through the cracks. Maintenance you take for granted can cause serious complications in a hospital setting—such as the introduction of dust or debris from something as simple as removing a ceiling panel. Keep your patients and staff safe and avoid a requirement for improvement (RFI) during your next Joint Commission survey by making infection control during construction protocols a priority at your facility.

Ensure that maintenance projects at your facility are conducted with patient safety and infection control in mind.

Listen to HCPro for the 90-minute audio conference Infection Control During Construction and Renovation: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Joint Commission Compliance. Safety experts Marge McFarlane, CHSP, MS, MT (Sacred Heart Hospital) and Thomas J. Huser, MS, CHSP (Clarian Health) show you how to conduct risk assessments, develop a proactive plan to prepare for projects of any size, and remain in compliance with The Joint Commission. The speakers explain the need for a multidisciplinary approach—from achieving buy-in from high-ranking hospital administrators to educating contractors on how to maintain a safe, sterile hospital environment. Attendees will also receive a comprehensive toolkit to help you ensure the safety of every construction project.
