Rick Gawenda, P.T., is currently the director of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Detroit Receiving Hospital and owner of Gawenda Seminars. He has provided valuable education and consulting to hospitals, rehabilitation agencies, private practices and his peers in the areas of CPT and ICD-9 coding, billing, documentation, and reimbursement as it pertains to outpatient therapy services as well as appeals process for Medicare denied claims. Mr. Gawenda is the current President of the Section on Health Policy & Administration of the APTA as well as President of the Michigan Association of Medical Rehabilitation Program Administrators.
