AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND

Sponsored by Briefings on Patient Safety

Presented on March 31, 2009

Due to tremendous audience response, HCPro is offering a replay of the “Universal Protocol: Increase Patient Safety and Comply With the 2009 National Patient Safety Goal” audio conference (originally broadcasted on January 8, 2009).

You might think a wrong-site surgery won't happen at your facility, but the incidence of this "never event" is on the rise.

In response, The Joint Commission has expanded its 2009 Universal Protocol and the associated responsibilities have shifted. More documentation is required, the time out checklist has been lengthened, and there are new rules about marking the surgical site.

Don’t wait until an actual sentinel event occurs—take a proactive approach to improve patient safety and achieve compliance.

Listen to the replay of HCPro's Universal Protocol: Increase Patient Safety and Comply With the 2009 National Patient Safety Goal, followed by a Q & A with original speaker Gloria Legere Rawn. During this audio conference, you’ll learn how to:

  • Increase patient safety through enacting Universal Protocol requirements
  • Comply with Joint Commission expectations
  • Encourage disruptive staff members to comply with Universal Protocol requirements
  • Obtain adequate leadership support and resources

Lead with patient safety, and compliance will follow.

During this 90-minute program, available CD or on-demand, you’ll receive guidance and best practices to help you ensure patient safety through complying with Universal Protocol requirements. You’ll be able to reduce the risk of “never events” and comply with the new rules that became effective January 2009. You’ll also gain understanding of the three segments of the Universal Protocol, best practices, and the requirements and responsibilities of each.
