Patient Falls: Improve Assessment and Prevention
Product Description:
AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by Briefings on Patient Safety
presented on April 10, 2009
Reduce patient falls with an integrated approach
Falls prevention has never been more important. CMS no longer reimburses hospitals for these incidents, which can cost your facility millions. In addition, more attention is given to lawsuits over falls due to increased patient satisfaction surveys that are made public. The answer to reducing the number of patient falls is a strategy that is broad, comprehensive, and can be tailored to the specific needs of your facility.
Ensure that ALL staff members are aware of fall risks and that they know prevention is an important patient safety effort as well as a Joint Commission requirement. Expert speakers Carol Payson, RN, MSN, and Corinne Sovik-Haviley, RN, MS, will walk you through a model that will help you determine whether your current method is working and how you can improve your facility's process.
Please note: This is an intermediate level program. You will benefit most from the program if you are aware of your current practice standard, the tools you have in place, and the advantages and disadvantages of both.
