MEET THE SPEAKERS

Lori Massaro ,MSN, CRNP, is an acute care nurse practitioner at UPMC Stroke Institute. As a member of the Stroke Team, she is responsible for the acute stroke triage and treatment protocols, as well as daily rounds, patient/family communication, and a liaison role with other members of the health care team.  She has lectured both locally and nationally on Acute Stroke care, CT scan interpretation, and a variety of neurological nursing topics.

Chris Thompson is a quality coordinator at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.  In this capacity, she facilitates and coordinates the efforts of the AMI, Heart Failure, and Stroke Teams, preparation for and maintenance of Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center certification.  Other responsibilities include Joint Commission continual readiness activities, regulatory compliance, facilitating departmental and system-wide performance improvement, and coordinating peer review for several medical staff departments and services.
