Data Mining: New Techniques to Go Beyond Internal Audits
Product Description:
Audio Conference on CD or Audio On-Demand
Sponsored by the Healthcare Audit Resource Center
presented on May 11, 2009
PROBLEM
If your facility had a higher rate of denied claims than others, would you be aware of it? Do you know which claims may be subject to review by your Medicare Administrative Contractor or the Recovery Audit Contractor? Your numbers might look great, but just one or two outlier claims patterns or physicians who are off the charts in terms of utilization rates can put you at risk of an audit and subsequent financial penalties.
SOLUTION
By employing data analytics, you can improve your facility's performance, as well as respond to potential problem areas that your traditional analysis wouldn't uncover. The government is already using data analytics to target providers, so it is in your best interest to review what they find and respond to potential risk areas before your facility gets audited.
