Product Description:
AUDIO CONFERENCE ON CD OR AUDIO ON-DEMAND
Sponsored by: The QM/QI Troubleshooter, Second Edition
presented on May 21, 2009
Understand the logic behind the five-star rating systems and what it means for your facility.
The implementation of the new five-star quality rating system on Nursing Home Compare displays to consumers a one to five rating of a facility. These ratings are based on data from surveys, staffing ratios, and 10 quality measures.
So what do you do if your rating is lower than it should be?
This is the question on the minds of many LTC professionals today. This is why we’ve recruited past-chairman Mary K. Ousley, and current director of regulatory services Lyn Bentley, MSW, for the American Health Care Association (AHCA) to explain the process and help you address any negative implications.
Understand your stars and communicate true quality to the public
Listen to this 90-minute audio conference The Five-Star Quality Rating: Understanding CMS’ Nursing Home Ranking System. During this important program our speakers explain how stars are developed and break down each step of the star compilation process. You’ll understand how scoring is done and what elements are considered. For example not all Quality Measures are considered the same way.
Already receive a low star? How can you fix your rating?
There is no easy fix. But we can provide steps you can take to change it. Speakers Mary K. Ousley, and Lyn Bentley, MSW, are also ready to provide you with the best approach to easing the minds of families who may be questioning your star status.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

- Identify how an overall star rating is attained
