Amy L Wood, CPC, is a coding and reimbursement supervisor at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. Prior to her current position, she worked as a chargemaster analyst and reimbursement specialist at Yale-New Haven Hospital where her role was focused on coding and reimbursement strategies in the outpatient hospital setting. Wood has been in the healthcare field for nine years and has an extensive medical coding background, including as a medical coding instructor and the 2007 president of the New Haven Chapter of the AAPC.
Susan E. Garrison, CHC, CHCA, PCS, FCS, CCS-P, CPAR, CPC, CPC-H, is executive vice president of Healthcare Consulting Services at Magnus Confidential in Atlanta, GA. Garrison has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare management, including the areas of documentation, coding, billing, and reimbursement for both outpatient hospital and physician services. She has conducted hundreds of engagements at hospitals across the country to improve hospital and physician compliance and reimbursement. She also worked for Medicare in Georgia for 12 years. Garrison is the executive director of compliance for the Association of Health Care Auditors and Educators, past president of the AAPC’s National Advisory Board, and past chair for the ACMCS.
